Hot Air Tour Draws 250 Activists
Billings, MT
Dear Friends,
Last night we launched the third leg of Americans for Prosperity’s “Hot Air Tour” before a huge crowd of over 250 activists in Billings, Montana. When I arrived at the park for the Billings rally there was Eric Olson, who helps run “Montana Shrugged” grassroots operation, standing in front of the biggest dual cab pick-up truck I’ve ever seen complete with two American flags and the Montana state flag snapping in the breeze. He’s a great ally in this fight.

During the rally I asked everyone in the crowd to pull out their cell phones. Then, I read the office numbers of Senator Baucus and Senator Tester while asking our activists to call and urge a NO vote on Cap-and-Trade. Dozens upon dozens of folks got through and left messages on the Senators’ voice mails.

Imagine the morning buzz in these Senate offices in Billings, Bozeman and Washington, D.C. when they find their office mailboxes filled with messages from the folks at our rally telling them to vote NO!
You could feel the energy and determination among the activists in Billings. Person after person told me “We’re going to keep the pressure on our Senators” and “This is a fight we’ve got to win” and “Thanks to AFP for holding these kinds of events that let us send a message to the politicians.”
In fact, one couple walked up to me after the event. They had heard about our event on-line and drove about 100 miles from Beach, North Dakota just to send their own message against Cap-and-Trade’s job killing impact on their land values. What commitment!
